The “Salone del Mobile” is the Milan furniture fair that for many years has offered a unique wealth of inspiration and trends with the creative program “Fuori Salone”. The exhibitions, installations and creative spaces are distributed throughout the city and want to be discovered incessantly. The creative abundance is sheer unbelievable and time just flies! Collaborations between designers, artists and creators with large, well-known manufacturers of furniture, objects for interior design or fashion houses determine the program and make one thing clear above all: only through trusting and unconditional cooperation can truly new ideas emerge.
Besides general inspiration over good food, espresso and aperitivo (aka dolce vita), we have discovered two top trends: Collaboration and Immersive Experience. Gucci teams up with Adidas; renowned interior designer Philipp Starck designs a chair for Dior; Porsche creates spaces to dream in with floral artist Mary Lennox; Louis Vuitton enriches its handcrafted portfolio of interiors, furniture and lighting year after year through collaborations with internationally renowned designers. In the context of Milan, collaboration always means creating something new together.
The other trend, Immersive Experiences has captivated us almost everywhere. We walked through a Milan apartment, loud music from the 20’s was playing, light, shadows and furniture seemed to be out of time and you thought Marlene Dietrich was about to come around the corner. We strolled through gardens that came to life as if by magic with unusual sounds or water installations. We were always caught in new worlds of experience, awakened from interesting mind games.
